PICCC is a joint venture between the University of Melbourne and Agriculture Victoria (a portfolio of the Victorian Department of Economic Development, Jobs, Transport and Resources). The Centre is hosted by the University of Melbourne through the Faculty of Veterinary and Agricultural Sciences.
Both partners are recognised nationally for their capacity in climate change and primary industries research, development, education and extension.

Researchers from the University of Melbourne are actively engaged in meeting the challenge of climate change through various faculties and an array of initiatives. PICCC is hosted by the University's Faculty of Veterinary and Agricultural Sciences, and has formal links with the University’s Science and Engineering faculties.
PICCC is also closely linked with the Melbourne Sustainable Society Institute (MSSI).

Agriculture Victoria is the agriculture portfolio the Victorian Government's Department of Economic Development, Jobs, Transport and Resources (DEDJTR). The purpose of DEDJTR is to create the conditions to sustainably develop the Victorian economy and grow employment.
